The P-47M Thunderbolt at the WWII Weekend, Reading, Pa., USA June 6 - June 8
These days there are only about nine P-47 Thunderbolts which are still airworthy and fly. One of them is the No Guts - No Glory, which was at the WWII Weekend Air Show. The Republic P-47 was designed as a high-performance fighter/bomber utilizing the large and powerful Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp 18-cylinder, air-cooled radial engine. In the P-47M it produced 2800 hp. The following 10 photos were taken over the three day period, and they represent a small sample of the superb 26 images of the P-47M Thunderbolt, available for purchase on the actual CD.
