The Mercedes E Class sedans and coupes are finely engineered cars, but do not exactly set the world on fire with outstanding acceleration, braking or cornering capabilities. However, the AMG version of the E Class, the E63 AMG is a superb performance or sport sedan. For a little over $136K + taxes in Canadian dollars (which is still over priced when compared to the exactly same US model by about $25K+) it is one rocket of a a sedan, it maybe the fastest in this category. The power comes from a hand built engine AMG 6.2L DOHC 32 valve V8 yielding 507 hp. Mercedes claims a 0-to-60 time of 4.3 seconds and when ordered without the speed limit governor (AMG performance option) on top of the regular price of the E63 AMG it does 180 mph easily. As this example at the show was equipped without the limiter. This is one Mercedes I would be willing to buy! This car looks superb from every angle!
