Alkett Schwere Minenraumer

The Alkett Schwere Minenraumer is not from any of the "Star Wars" episodes, although it could have been, or maybe even inspired some of the walking machines in the futuristic tale. This is truly one-of-kind mine-sweeper or should I state, a mine exploder. In theory, it was to "roll" or walk slowly over mine fields, and by its great weight explode the mine. However, it proved to be a slow and not so effective design, and it was never truly used. The Russians got hold of it took it to Kubinka, tested its potential, and now is on display at the Museum. This machine actually has another wheel, two up front (as shown) with the third behind the engine bay, which was used to steer this mechanical monstrosity. It also has a turret from the PzKpfw I.
