Design by Laszlo László Nyáry: Artist, Designer and Photographer.

Design by Laszlo, an expert digital professional photographer. My site, is about professional digital photography. Photography for me combines the elements of art and design. Hence, the name of my site.

Laszlo Nyary in Moscow Aug 2006

A short biography about me. My name is László Nyáry. I was born 1953, in the scenic and historic city of Budapest. I was recognized from an early age to be very creative. In 1965, I moved to Toronto, Canada with my Mother. My education was technical and specialized in mechanical drafting, while I maintained my keen interests in the latest computer technology, graphical and general arts.

This is me in Moscow 2006.

In the early 70's I started to paint landscapes and flowers with oil based media to express myself visually and sold several paintings within a year. By the end of the 80's, I'd become an accomplished artist, painting over (90) 18x24" or larger, landscapes and flower paintings. Some of my work sold in the $1000+ range. Since the late 1990's, I have concentrated my creativity more on photography.

I'd started to experiment with photography at a very early age. My first 35mm film camera was given to me by my Father when I was only 6 years old. My Father had his own dark room set up for developing photographs. In the early 1970's with some encouragement from a close friend, Aniko Horvath (thank you wherever you are now!), I eventually bought a modern 35mm SLR camera. The Minolta SRT-102, at the time, was the top of the line Minolta camera. In the mid 70's, I upgraded the SRT-102 to the Minolta XK. The Minolta XK was the first professional SLR camera with through-the-lens (TTL) metering, automatic diaphragm lenses, and automatic exposure control. It had shutter speeds from 16 seconds to 1/2000, with aperture-preferred, automatic exposure, as well as metered-manual and full manual settings. This may not sound so revolutionary now, but that was in the mid-70's. In 1978, I traded my Minolta equipment in for the Nikon F2AS, the top professional Nikon camera at the time and probably the best mechanical and finest camera produced ever by Nikon or anyone else.

Since then, times have changed a lot and, so have I. I wanted to continue my education and enrolled in computer programming in the early 80's graduating with honours. In the late 1990's I received a green-card and moved to the USA, where I lived and worked for seven years, incorporating digital imaging into my work. At the advent of the digital photography revolution, I became involved with this technology from several perspectives: artist to create art, creative designer authoring CDs, and as a project manager, incorporating digital technology to solve problems.

With my extensive knowledge and experience in computer applications, I've created effective web designs, eye-catching digital photography, an efficient financial assets and inventory control program, and authoring CD catalogues by using digital media for various commodities and subjects of interests for private and commercial use.

Over the last ten years my camera equipment evolved from F3, to the latest Nikon Pro digital, the D3, which is featured on this site, the entry portal to my site. During this time, I've owned several digital Nikon and other brands, from Panasonic to Canon digital cameras. Some of my digital favourite were Coolpix 950, D70 and D2X. If you're interested in what I actually use and why just click here.

For me photography is more than just my profession: it is my passion, it is an extension of my creativity and artistic vision. By persons who know me, and by my clients I've been called an expert photographer.

While a majority of my images on this site feature vintage to modern aircraft, WWII tanks and other Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV) they've been photographed in a documentary style to preserve how they actually look or looked. My other images include travel, nature, and art. The art, includes digital creations which reflect my visions and exploration of unlimited boundaries with colour and digital effects that digital photography allows. These images, all are available for sale.
